The Spohn Performance tubular tunnel brace strengthens the floorpan and reinforces the driveshaft tunnel. It replaces the existing stamped sheet metal factory brace.
Constructed of 1.25″ x .120″ tubing and 3/8″ laser cut mounting plates. Design allows for proper clearance with any exhaust system, including long tube headers and larger aftermarket y-pipes. Bolts in using existing factory mounts, all mounting hardware is included.
Available powder coated bright red or gloss black.
Note: Will not work with Spohn Performance Torque Arm.

Appears to be a quality piece. However, it does not fit all aftermarket exhaust systems. I have a QTP Y-Pipe with long tube headers on my ’02 T/A and it will not clear the Y-Pipe by at least an inch.

This piece really helped with some of the body flex my car was experiencing during street use. Central Oregon roads are terrible on F-Bodies in general and again this helped with body flex. The previous owner of the car had removed the stock piece and did not replace it with another for whatever reason. Unfortunately, this part also reduced my ground clearance by a good inch, causing me to scrape it on several entrances/exits to various parking lots.
Be careful if your car is lowered, this tunnel brace will have an effect on ground-clearance.

Installed it on the ws.6 today. This is a beautiful piece of hardware. Compared to the flimsy stamped GM piece it replaces it should definitely strengthen the tunnel up considerably. It cleared my SLP Y-pipe by 1″-1.5″ and got rid of an exhaust rattle from the old piece that had to be bent to clear the y-pipe.
