Fit perfectly, install was very easy. It makes the intake sound louder, which is kinda cool. Overall though a neat product which is a simple way to free up some horsepower. Quality was good, instructions were clear. GM High Tech Mag says this one fits better out outflows the competition, so keep that in mind when you purchase a lid.

The SLP lid cleans up the interior very nicely but it was an extremly tight fit for the MAF to go into the lid opening. I heated the lid neck up with hot water from the tap and that made it a little easier but still a press fit.

Throttlel respsonse was instantly improved. It also looks much cleaner under the hood vs. the factory air box, for under 100 bucks well worth the money. It is hard to get it on the MAS, that took some work other than that install was a breeze.

uh, where did all the haters come from??? throttle response improves AND theres an increase of h.p. from the stock crap, so yeah, go eat your word bud! i heard volants dont fit very well, good luck with that ;P

Good quality lid. Mine fit perfectly, haven’t had any issues with leaks/cracks/clips coming off. The one guy saying to save up and by an intake is severely confused, an intake manifold and a lid are completely different parts. There is an improvement in throttle response, and lids are pretty much a proven tenth in the 1/4, if not more. This is one of the first mods you should do; it’s cheap and has some pretty reasonable gains for the money.

Okay, this is one thing that i can say. The air lid does give you an increase in horsepower but dont expect a huge gain. The throttle response quickens a bit. Its not like when you buy this thing you can expect a 20 hp gain. Expect more like 2-5. Of course to a lot of people that doesnt seem like much but considering the fact of what it is it a good buy for the buck. A cam only wont even give you a dramatic gain that a lot of people would expect. If you really want to a “tremendous” gain do what i did, get your throttle body ported, an ls6 intake(99-00), and a bellow (for starters). Its a good start. Im still impressed with it and i bought it a WHILE back.

Oh yeah, if you dont have what they ask you to use to get the maf sensor to fit into it, just heat it over a stove element or something. Dont be afraid of melting it.

Looks great, cleans up the engine bay and looks alot better than the factory lid with the baffles on the sides. Fitment is good but not as great like the factory lid (which should be expected with any aftermarket part). I dont have any “dyno proof” but im sure it improves performance. You can even here it sucking up the air which sounds cool….. (i rev’d it in front of a Honda guy and he thought its was a turbo lol). All in All, it is worth the money and I would recommend this to anyone.

I install this lid about a month ago and the only issue I had with it was I had to heat the neck to get it to fit around the MAF. But it fit so nicely that i doubt I would need a band clamp(i put one on anyways just for good measure) But the fit was very tight which i was happy with and the seal around my air filter element was very tight. I put extra weather stipping around the edge of the lid just cause im OCD about that kinda stuff…. 🙂 Other than that it was well worth the money, it cleaned up my engine bay, gave me better throttle response, and i can feel the horsepower boost 🙂

a not so simple install. heating the neck with heat gun was a must. felt stiffer throttle response. cleans up engine bay nicely.

This should definitely be one of the first items you get on your car, I highly recommend, I could feel better throttle response and it makes a much better sound.
Plus, the engine bay gets uncluttered and you can actually see the front of the engine!
